DBA-proof via tussenkomst
With stricter enforcement of the Dutch DBA Act, the risk of false self-employment (schijnzelfstandigheid) is a real concern when hiring freelancers. Maedium takes that concern away.
You sign one agreement with Maedium. Maedium contracts the freelancer. You pay Maedium, Maedium pays the freelancer. Because Maedium is the legal client, no direct employment relationship arises between you and the engineer — and that's where your protection lies. You don't have to assess the working relationship yourself.

What does it cost?
You pay an hourly rate per engaged freelancer; a market-standard range is between €60 and €110 per hour, depending on specialism and seniority. No setup costs, and it applies: no placement, no fee.
What does the 16-hour guarantee mean?
Does a freelancer turn out not to be the right match in practice? Then you don't pay for the first 16 hours worked. That way you take no risk on a wrong start.
How does the DBA Act work here?
Maedium works via a tussenkomst (intermediation) structure and is the legal client of the freelancer. This means you don't assess the working relationship yourself, and the risk of false self-employment is contractually covered.
How quickly can someone start?
On average we match you with an available engineer within 14 days. Often sooner when the profile is already available in our network.
